Dr Sophia Chambers, BSc, PhD, DClinPsy – HCPC-registered Clinical Psychologist

I am a friendly and passionate Clinical Psychologist, experienced in helping with a range of difficulties including: anxiety, stress and burnout, trauma/PTSD, depression, grief, and the impact of physical health conditions. I also have expertise in alcohol/drug use and have supported many people in recovery. Alongside my private practice, I work as a Clinical Psychologist in the NHS.

I draw on principles from a range of evidence-based psychological therapies including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, and Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT). This means I can be flexible and adapt sessions to suit you.

I know reaching for help can be hard so I strive to ensure you feel relaxed and safe. My approach is warm, non-judgemental and down-to-earth. We will work as a team to help you understand why difficulties may have arisen, and guide you to develop effective coping strategies so you can live the life you really want.

Therapy is a big investment and it is important to find someone you feel comfortable with. I offer a free no-obligation phone consultation so we learn a bit about each other and help you decide if I am the right therapist for you.
